You have managed to complete the project that your colleagues had already begun. To visualize the quality of your planning, you can now dive into the submodule "Transport simulation". Afterwards, you have the possibility to work with various analyses and to optimize your project based on those analyses.
In order to perform the transport simulation, the production data must first be calculated. This is done in ipolog in the submodule "Production data".
In ipolog, production data is divided into two categories: "Base product" and "Detailed calculation". In the "Base product" area, requirements can be created for provisioning or imported from the ipolog 4 Workspace. Here, the variants and call-offs are calculated based on the average shoring rates in the logistics quantity framework.
In contrast, the "Detailed calculation" allows for a more detailed representation. Here you can define the exact number of different product variants and map different production lines (such as assembly and pre-assembly lines) with different cycle times. You can find more detailed information here.
To match your planning project as closely as possible to future production, we recommend using the "Detailed calculation". In doing so, you assign both the E-Performance Comfort and the E-Performance RS Deluxe to the same production group, since both are produced on the same assembly line and have the same cycle time.
Select the products E-Performance Comfort and E-Performance RS Deluxe and assign the shift plan "Shift_plan_3-Shift". 400 cars of the E-Performance Comfort and 300 products of the E-Performance RS Deluxe are to be produced. Create the provision requirements using the "Create provision requirements" button.
To start the transport simulation, select the "Transport simulation" submodule.
Now that you have entered all the required data, ipolog 4 Material Flow calculates the transport orders of the means of transport used. The explanation of the individual functions and displays in this submodule can be found here.
Click the blue "Recalculate Transports" button to start the transport simulation and calculate the transports.
If the button is grayed out, before running the transport simulation, make sure that a shift schedule is assigned to each resource in the "Shift schedule management" submodule (for more information, click here) and that you have also selected a shift schedule for your production in the "Production data" submodule (for more information, click here).
After the calculation, various evaluation options are available to you.
