In the transport simulation, the tours automatically calculated by the software can be viewed. It is also possible to view the simulation at specific points in time. If a simulation is created over several days, the corresponding day can be selected (see 1). In the overview, all simulated days are displayed with their respective number of orders. For this visualization of the transports, the 3D view opens automatically when switching to the sub-module.
In order to view certain points in time of a day in the 3D visualization, it is also possible to move the slider in the Transport Gantt (view in the lower half of the screen in which the individual transports are listed). Thus the transports are displayed from the defined point in time. The selected day is displayed. The selected date and time are displayed next to the slider.
The transport Gantt displays the loading and unloading processes for full and empty containers as well as the travel times. In addition, allowance times are also taken into account in the transport Gantt if allowance times are also stored in resource management for the workers who have been defined for the shipment. Route transports are listed here with the respective tugger type, grouped according to the route strategy used and the worker used.
If the same tugger type and worker type are assigned to different routes, this tugger will supply all these routes whenever possible. Thus the tugger types are optimally loaded on different routes. The change between two routes always takes place between the end point of one route and the start point of the other route, transfer times are taken into account. The Gantt diagram shows the routes used for each tour.
If dynamic trailer planning is selected in the Trailer Planning submodule (option 2), the utilization of the trailers and the individual trailer instances can be displayed for each tour via a tooltip.
The utilisation is calculated as follows: occupied trailer area/ available trailer area
Legend transport Gantt:
No. | Description |
1 |
Here the orders per day are displayed, sorted by simulation days. The simulation day starts in the middle between the end and the beginning of the shift plan. The orders are assigned to the simulation day on the basis of the average delivery time, so that the staging time window is as large as possible. |
2 |
The orders can be recalculated here. |
3 |
Here you can show or hide the report. The number of transports per time and the transport type (direct or route) is displayed in separate colours. |
4 |
This button can be used to show or hide the transport Gantt. All means of transport with their respective processes are displayed in terms of time and colour. A distinction is made between loading and unloading full containers and loading and unloading empties (see legend Gantt diagram). Details are displayed by selecting individual processes. More information on how transports are calculated here: Order and transport calculation. |
5 |
A KPI evaluation of the individual means of transport can be displayed here. Required means of transport are evaluated and displayed on the basis of their process times, empty runs and requirements per shift. |
6 |
An evaluation of the individual routes can be displayed here. Required means of transport are evaluated and displayed on the basis of their process times and requirements per shift. |
7 |
The waypoint analysis can be displayed here. More information can be found here. |
8 |
This button is used to set the simulation parameters in the software. |
9 |
The order list can be shown and hidden and shows all calculated orders. |
If there is a change to another sub-module for which the transport orders are required as input data, a message appears in this sub-module. This note can be used to recalculate the transports. This automatically forwards the data to the Transport Simulation sub-module.
All orders are taken into account in the orderlist. If an order cannot be served, a reason for the order not being fulfilled is indicated in the column "Reason for unfulfillable order". In the orderlist summary, the days with the most and the least orders are displayed. The day that comes closest to the average with its number of orders is also displayed.
Please keep in mind that we can only visualize errors days with calculated transports. Otherwise we do have this information available, because it is also depending in cases on the calculated transport tours.
Since Release 2019-02, process times are now also taken into account in the transport calculation if the source and sink of parts in the supply chain editor match. In this way, the times for stock transfer processes can be taken into account in the software.
If the transport is viewed in 3D through the visualization of the transport vehicles, the dynamic heat map can provide information on the route loads within a period of 15 minutes, a shift or the whole selected day when the 2D view is opened. For this purpose, as in the 3D visualization, the images have to be moved along in the transport Gantt.
In addition to viewing the simulation of transports in 3D, it is also possible to export the order list and the transport list from the software. This is done using the corresponding buttons to the right of Recalculate.
