In the transportsimulation submodule, you can set the calculation logic for the transports in the simulation parameters view. This allows you to define individually in each project whether the transports are to meet the criterion of the shortest path or the shortest transport time.
Under the point Pathfinding strategy for means of transport the selection between these two criteria is possible.
If the shortest transport path is set, the means of transport travel the shortest distance in metres between the stopping point of the source and the stopping point of the sinks. When calculating the shortest path, the restrictions defined in the Create transport network submodule are always taken into account.
When selecting the criterion shortest transport time, the shortest travel time between the stopping point of the source and the stopping point of the sink is decisive.
The calculation of the duration is as follows:
∑ Distance length per section (m) / permitted speed (m/s)
Here, too, the defined restrictions are taken into account for the lines and the speeds.
The permitted speed must always take into account that the following applies:
- Speed restriction > Speed in resource management → Speed from resource management is used
- Speed restriction < speed in resource management → Speed restriction is used
By default, the shortest transport time criterion is active.
The setting is taken into account as soon as it is saved. For example, the transports must be recalculated.
